LHA Toner is a targeted clarifying toner ideal for combination skin or oily skin. Formulated with a triple combination of exfoliating agents, including lipo-hydroxy acid, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid, it efficiently removes excess residue and surface cells to get rid of clogged pores. Designed for ageing skin prone to breakouts, this clarifying toner has a low pH to efficiently exfoliate and reveal brighter, more even, and refined skin.

Caproloyl salicylic acid (LHA): A derivative of salicylic acid, this lipo-hydroxy acid delivers targeted, even exfoliation while decongesting clogged pores and refining skin’s surface.

Glycolic acid: Derived from sugar cane, this alpha-hydroxy acid helps facilitate skin’s natural exfoliation while eliminating dead skin cell buildup to improve the appearance of skin tone and texture.

Salicylic acid: Extracted from the bark of willow trees, this beta-hydroxy acid unclogs congested pores while removing excess sebum and dead skin cells.

FAQs

SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Toner is considered a clarifying toner because it combines multiple exfoliating acids to support both pore refinement and surface renewal. Ingredients such as salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and lipo-hydroxy acid work together to help remove excess oil, loosen dead skin buildup, and improve overall texture. This multi-acid approach supports oil balance while encouraging gradual skin renewal, helping pores appear clearer and less congested over time. When used appropriately, the formulation helps refine the skin’s appearance while maintaining barrier function through controlled exfoliation rather than aggressive resurfacing. Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid that works within pores to dissolve excess sebum and debris associated with congestion and breakouts. By supporting clearer pores, it helps reduce conditions that contribute to blemish formation. At the same time, exfoliation helps remove surface buildup that can make fine lines and uneven tone more visible. Supporting skin renewal in this way may improve overall texture and clarity over time. Maintaining hydration balance alongside exfoliation is important to protect barrier function and minimise irritation, particularly for skin managing both acne concerns and visible signs of ageing. The toner is generally best suited for oily, combination, and mature skin types due to its blend of exfoliating acids. Individuals with sensitive skin may still use the product by introducing it gradually to allow tolerance to develop. Because active acids can influence barrier function, starting with less frequent application helps reduce irritation risk. Monitoring skin response and adjusting usage accordingly supports safe integration into a routine. Following application with hydrating products helps maintain moisture balance and skin comfort, particularly for combination skin that may experience both oiliness and dryness in different areas. The toner is typically introduced once daily after cleansing, with frequency increased gradually depending on skin tolerance. Controlled usage allows exfoliation benefits while helping maintain barrier function and hydration balance. Applying the toner before serums helps prepare the skin surface for subsequent skincare steps. Individuals new to acid exfoliation may prefer alternate-day use initially. Consistent moisturisation and daily sunscreen application are recommended to support skin stability during treatment. Adjusting frequency based on skin response ensures effective results while maintaining comfort. Last reviewed: February 2026

With regular use, the toner may help improve the appearance of clearer pores, smoother texture, and more even-looking skin tone. Exfoliating acids support gradual renewal processes that allow dull surface cells to shed over time, improving radiance and clarity. Because improvements occur progressively, results typically become more noticeable after consistent application across several skin cycles. Supporting hydration balance and barrier function through moisturisers and sun protection helps maintain long-term benefits. Individual outcomes vary depending on skin type, routine consistency, and environmental factors. Last reviewed: February 2026
